After School Programs
Playhouse Program
Pulaski International School of Chicago’s Playhouse program is an arts-based after-school program in partnership with Columbia College Chicago’s Center for Community Arts Partnerships. The program typically runs four days a week and features arts-based instruction in various disciplines (drama, visual art, music, dance) led by experienced teaching artists. The program runs throughout the academic year and the summer. In partnership with the Center for Community Arts Partnerships, Pulaski also offers a tutoring/homework-help program four days a week for students.
The Center for Community Arts Partnerships’ Community Schools Initiative is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Education Arts in Education Model Development and Dissemination program and the Parent Information Resource Center program; the National Endowment for the Arts; a 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant through the Illinois State Board of Education; Chicago Public Schools; the Searle Funds at the Chicago Community Trust; Crown Family Philanthropies; Fifth Third Foundation; Leo S. Guthman Fund; JCCC Foundation; JPMorgan Chase Foundation; Polk Bros. Foundation; Terra Foundation for American Art; U.S. Bancorp Foundation; and an anonymous foundation. Special thanks to Columbia College Chicago. The Community Schools Initiative is a proud 2010 winner of the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award, an initiative of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities.
