Hello and welcome! Ms. Solayman is excited to be part of the Pulaski International School of Chicago Baccalaureate Programme. She teaches monolingual third grade and has been in her current position for two years. In her years of teaching she has had a wide variety of training and experiences. She graduated with high honors from Northeastern Illinois University with a type 03 Elementary Education K-9 self-contained with endorsements in middle school, language arts, social science, and science. She received her minor in Geography and Environmental Science.
Ms. Solayman is dedicated to working with students, parents, and fellow staff to enhance the learning experience at Pulaski. She relishes implementing new approaches in teaching reading, math, and writing. This year, she will be implementing cross-curricular learning units in which students will learn more about themselves as well as their place as responsible individuals within the family, community, and the world. These are important ideals emphasized in our International Baccalaureate Programme.
Aside from teaching, her passions include: music, movies, exercising, traveling, and meeting new people. “That exhilarating feeling that some people get when jumping from an airplane, or scuba diving deep into the ocean, or running a marathon, is the feeling that I get when I teach a classroom full of elementary students.” -Ms. Solayman
