This is my sixth year at Pulaski and I am truly enjoying all of the activities we incorporate to help our students grow. The IB program here is very beneficial in creating students who are more globally minded. The profiles show them to take risks, be open to ideas, care for others and their surroundings, become more inquisitive, and become more knowledgeable by using critical thinking and applying what they learn. In the classroom we also work on developing a principled, communicative, and balanced individual by showing the students how to take care of their responsibilities as a student. We also encourage emotional awareness and ways to use techniques that help in minimizing unhealthy behaviors. Positive social emotional learning techniques will provide students with tools to manage their own reactions and behaviors. On a more personal note my eldest daughter graduated as a nurse with a BSN. She is happy as a nurse at Illinois Masonic. My middle daughter graduated as a Music teacher in May and was offered her first job at Patrick Henry Elementary School. She is currently working on her Masters in Performing Arts at DePaul. My youngest, my son, is currently working as a vet tech. His passion is to be a veterinarian. My husband of 29 years believes, as I do, that education is the true equalizer. The opportunity to become educated is priceless. I hope to instill in my students a love for learning and involvement in the improvement of our school community, as well as, our global community.I am continuously participating in professional development activities in order to better serve our students. Lets work together to create the next generation of career ready students.
