Dear Families, Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) leadership continues to direct their members who support pre-k and cluster programs to remain at home. Therefore, we must ask parents to continue keeping your children home as we are unable to guarantee adequate staffing levels to cover in-person learning. The district will continue with remote learning tomorrow, 1/28. Hello Pulaski Families! (Español abajo) As you have likely heard in the news today, CPS and CTU continue negotiations about how and when to reopen schools safety. Per district communication today, CPS is still planning to reopen schools Monday, February 1st. / We will continue with our plans and preparations here at Pulaski to do so, as well. Teachers will be engaged in staff meetings and planning sessions each afternoon this week to prepare for the potential of hybrid learning next week. Update on CTU negotiations Dear Families, CPS and CTU officials have been meeting over the weekend with the goal of reaching an agreement that provides for a smooth expansion of in-person learning. We now agree on far more than we disagree, but our discussions remain ongoing, and additional time is needed to reach a resolution. To ensure we have the time needed to resolve our discussions without risking disruption to student learning, we have agreed to a request from CTU leadership to push back the return of K-8 teachers and staff to Wednesday, Jan. 27. January 22, 2021 Greetings Pulaski Families, As we prepare to reopen our school building for K-8 students on Monday, February 1, 2021, we have made some adjustments to student and staff classroom assignments. We made these changes to ensure our in-person classes are a safe size, we are able to follow health protocols, and our teachers will provide the best possible learning experience for students at home and at school.
