Welcome to the 2011-2012 Academic Year! This will be an exciting year because all students at Pulaski International School of Chicago will receive Spanish language and culture classes. My name is Sr. Efraín Martínez and I have been teaching Spanish in K-12 schools, community colleges and at the university level for eight years. This academic year will be my 6th year in CPS. My professional experience and my academic preparation (B.A. & M.A. in Spanish literature and linguistics plus an M.Ed. in education) grants me the necessary tools to make a difference in your child’s education. I enjoy spending time with my wife (Rosemary) and kids (Alejo & Sofía). ¡Bienvenidos al año escolar 2011-2012! Este año promete ser uno fascinante en la Escuela Internacional Pulaski de Chicago porque todos los estudiantes tomarán clases de lengua y cultura en español. Soy el señor Efraín Martínez y llevo enseñando español por ocho años en escuelas (de Kínder a 12mo grado), en colegios universitarios y en universidades. Este año académico será mi 6to año enseñando en CPS. Mi experiencia profesional y mi preparación académica (poseo una licenciatura y una maestría en literatura y lingüística en español y también una maestría en pedagogía) me brindan las herramientas necesarias para hacer una gran diferencia educativa en la vida de su hijo/a. Disfruto el tiempo con mi esposa (Rosemary) y mis hijos (Alejo y Sofía). Cuando tengo tiempo extra, disfruto leer y escuchar ficción contemporánea, ver películas y aprender sobre temas relacionados a la educación.
