Ms. Phyllis received her BA in Early Childhood Education with a focus area in Visual Arts from Columbia College Chicago; Columbia’s program focus is on The Reggio Emilia Approach to Early Childhood Education. Ms. Phyllis traveled to Italy to study and deepen her knowledge of the approach. She is dedicated, caring, and passionate about her work with young children. While working in CPS, Ms. Phyllis has been nominated for the DRIVE Award by her peers, for teachers who go above and beyond. She received a special Honor, recognized as a Legend of Early Childhood, and presented to the Citywide Early Childhood Department. Her work with young children has been presented at Professional Development Workshops and at the national NAEYC Conference. Ms. Phyllis is currently pursuing her Masters Degree at Concordia University in Curriculum and Instruction with an ESL Endorsement. She loves spending time in Louisiana with her family, eating delicious Creole and Cajun food. Ms. Phyllis has 7 cats and loves them dearly! She looks forward to another exciting year at Pulaski International School of Chicago.
