Welcome to the 2011 – 2012 school year!
Ms. Halliday is one of two Spanish teachers at Pulaski International School of Chicago. She started learning Spanish when she was 10 years old, and since then it has always been her favorite subject in school. She majored in Spanish [and journalism] at Northwestern University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. She also studied abroad in Seville, Spain, where she fell even more in love with the Spanish language—not to mention the amazing people and culture of Andalucía. After working as a magazine journalist for several years, Ms. Halliday decided to change paths and headed back to school to get a master’s degree in education from Loyola University. She is looking forward to a great year at Pulaski!
Fun facts about Ms. Halliday:
- She has traveled to 31 states and 10 countries.
- Her favorite food is sushi…specifically the “kamikaze” maki from Sushi Toro on Clark Street.
- Some of her interests include cooking, listening to music, reading books, and biking. She also loves Northwestern football! Go ‘cats!

La Sra. Halliday es maestra de español en la Escuela Internacional Pulaski. Ella empezó a estudiar el español cuando tenía 10 años, y desde entonces el español siempre ha sido su clase favorita. Estudió español [y periodismo] en la Universidad de Northwestern, donde ganó su licenciatura. Estudió en Sevilla, España, donde se enamoró aun más del idioma, de la cultura, y de la gente preciosa de Andalucía. Después de trabajar como periodista durante unos años, decidió cambiar de carrera. Hizo una maestría en pedagogía en la Universidad de Loyola. ¡La Sra. Halliday está lista para un año fabuloso en Pulaski!
